5GTANGO will be present at Mobile World Congress (MWC2019) located in Barcelona (Spain) during 25th-28th February 2019. 5GTANGO will be present at Mobile World Capital booth (CS40). Two demo videos will be presented:

  • The communications demo shows all the steps needed to deploy a collaboration system for real-time communications over 5GTANGO NFV Platform. This includes the setup of multiple Network Slices over SONATA NFV Service Platform. Each instance of a collaboration system for real-time communications is deployed on each Network Slice, with different QoS requirements. This demo leverages all the automatic procedures provided by 5GTANGO to instantiate an operative Network Slice including Network Services in just a few minutes with almost no effort. The final services provide advanced collaborative features such as multi-conference, screen sharing and whiteboard.
  • The immersive media demo will showcase how 5G networks will enhance the experience of end users regarding media services by improving their immersiveness into multiple 360º and non-360º video streams and even the integration of their social media channels. This will allow, for example, end user enjoy sports events in a new dimension. The SONATA Platform hosts the VNFs required to run these services with minimal hardware requirements from the end user devices. The demo leverages the automatic deployment and management of the Network Service components for a seamless experience maintaining a low latency at the same time.

Moreover, we will be presenting 5GTANGO in Mobile World Capital Auditorium at CS40 on Monday the 25th of February.

CTTC is hosting a joint SONATA and OSM Hackfest from 4th to 8th of February 2018. Joining forces with OSM is a significant benefit for SONATA community, in order to align contribution to OSM release 6, as well as preparing SONATA powered by 5GTANGO release 5.0

We hope to see you in Ljubjana and tell more about 5GTANGO!

5GPPP 5GTANGO project announces the release 4.0 of SONATA NFV platform. 5GTANGO has taken over the work of SONATA and it will keep upgrading and extending the SONATA NFV Platform. This is the first major release since the finalization of SONATA project and includes a novel Validation and Verification Platform in order to support DevOps model in NFV. Other new features of this release include network slicing, policy and SLA support.

This year's Mobile World Congress 2018 will be one of the dissemination actions for 5GTANGO. Many of the partners are involved in this huge industry event and presents their products, which are related to innovations tackled in 5GTANGO. We have also prepared a professional video for explaining 5GTANGO and show its potencial benefits:

Be ready to spot it in 5GPPP and 5GIA booth in Hall 7 stand 7K17.

Some of the presented partners contributions and locations are the following:

ATOS at Hall 2 Stand 2F60

The coordinator of 5GTANGO European R&D project will be present at MWC with a set of demos and solution, the so-called THE ATOS POWERHOUSE with solutions of Software Networks, applied Big Data to Telcos, Cybersecurity and Digital payments.

Regarding the NFV/SDN field, there are four demos;

  • vEPC PoC at ATOS Grenoble Lab (in partnership of Cisco / Red Hat / Juniper and DellEMC). Atos and our partners recently completed large scale vEPC testing. We undertook the audit using multiple traffic models to production-scale expected for a Tier 1 telco. We have a video presenting the project and members of the technical team are on the Atos booth to answer questions and discuss your VNF testing requirements
  • L3 VPN and chained services with NFV BluePlanet orchestration (together with Ciena / Redhat and VMWare). Atos presents a demonstration of the Blue Planet management and orchestration solution. We will show the instantiation of multiple VNFs and orchestrating them to create a service chain.
  • vIMS proposition with Metaswitch. Atos has deployed the Metaswitch vIMS in our Grenoble NFV lab. On the Atos booth we will show the MaX service powered by the Metaswitch vIMS bringing carrier-grade group communications to small businesses, prosumers and families.
  • Common Telco database in partnership with Affirmed Network. Atos showcasing the next generation cloud industrial telco database (SCR, Atos “Standard Common Repository”) with Affirmed Networks, a major provider of virtualized 3GPP EPC. Showcasing a cloud native architecture in which the NFV network functions (VNFs) are stateless frontends, using the Atos SCR to store all subscriber and state data. As an example, an Affirmed MME (Mobility Management Entity) uses LDAP and REST interfaces connecting to a geographically distributed SCR, and a simulated fail-over from one site to another proves that there is full continuity in the cloud for telco-grade user experience.

NEC at Hall3 Stand 3M30

Together with telecom service providers and partners, NEC will enable new business model creation, and drive digital transformation by leveraging sophisticated ICT technologies, to create a future beyond imagination.

NEC/Netcracker's award-winning offerings enable businesses of all sizes to transform and keep pace with the rapidly evolving digital economy. SDN/NFV: Comprehensive solutions designed to combat the key challenges of multivendor services while commercializing new services and accelerating revenue growth through optimized cloud networks.

Quobis at CS60, booth #2

Quobis’ booth (CS60, booth #2) at the Spanish Pavilion will showcase the new portfolio of Sippo for the telco and enterprise market. While the enterprise portfolio will be disclosed at the ITexpo event in Fort Lauderdale two weeks before the MWC, the telco portfolio will have its premiere in Barcelona.
